Call for PapersPlease note the new deadline for submitting abstracts: February 25, 2005!! About CINet The Continuous Innovation Network (CINet) is a global network set up to bring together researchers and industrialists working in the field of Continuous Innovation. CINet is a continuation of the European Continuous Improvement Network, which was established in 1994. The mission of CINet is to develop into a school of thought on continuous innovation. The network pursues this mission by, first of all, studying continuous innovation as the ongoing process of initiating, developing, operating and improving new and existing configurations of products, market approaches, processes, technologies and competencies, organisation and management systems. As organisations strive to achieve a synergistic balance between short-term oriented, operationally-effective exploitation strategies and longer-term, innovation-oriented exploration strategies, the rapid growth of the global knowledge economy has placed learning at the centre of this critical balance. Consistent with its mission, CINet organises an annual conference. This call for papers concerns the 5 th CINet conference. Furthermore, CINet promotes a PhD Network to foster research collaboration among PhD students and their institutions on topics of interest to CINet. As part of that initiative, an annual Doctoral Seminar on Research in Continuous Innovation is organised. The next seminar will take place in May 2006. The 6th CINet Conference Theme and Tracks The theme of the 6th CINet conference is " Continuous Innovation - (Ways of) Making Things Happen ".
Key note speakers One of the key note speaker at the conference will be Yves Doz. Yves Doz is a professor of Business Strategy and the Timken Chaired Professor of Global Technology and Innovation at INSEAD. He has served as Dean of Executive Education (1999-2002) and Associate Dean for Research and Development (1990-1995), at which time he led the Management of Technology and Innovation programme at INSEAD, a multi-disciplinary effort involving some 20 faculty members and researchers which ran from 1987 to 1994. Besides Yves Doz delegates will hear from business leader, Emily Aiken, who has been instrumental in the development and growth of new media in Brighton and the South-East and until recently headed Wired Sussex, the business development agency for the sector. Venture capitalist Gerry Lemberg, who has successfully supported innovative companies in the digital media sector, will outline how combining innovation and entrepreneurship is central in securing funding for good ideas. PhD Workshop The CINet PhD workshop offers the PhD students a unique possibility to present and discuss their research in an inspiring academic community of fellow PhD students and experienced researchers as part of the CINet community. The PhD workshop will provide an opportunity to receive feedback from and exchange comments and views with regard to their research. For more information on the PhD Workshop please check the PhD Workshop page. Who should attend? Practitioners, academics and consultants involved in managing or studying innovation and change are invited to submit papers relevant to the conference theme and the various tracks listed above, or simply register for conference attendance to gain access to leading research outcomes in this key area. • Submissions
