CINet PhD Workshop Objective The CINet PhD workshop offers PhD students a unique possibility to present and discuss, receive feedback, and exchange comments and views on their research in an inspiring academic community of fellow PhD students and experienced researchers active in the CINet community. The PhD workshop starts a day prior to the 6th International CINet Conference in Brighton , and ends at the afternoon of the last conference day, while there are also meetings during the conference. Structure The CINet PhD workshop offers three classifications of attendance, depending on the experience of the PhD. Note that the classifications describe full time students; for part time students longer time periods might be more relevant. In the first year, participants are invited to present their research design and preliminary results. This class is aimed at students who are in the first or early second year of their PhD research. Students who took part in the first class will be invited to join the second class, the following year. In that workshop, the discussion focuses on results and preliminary conclusions (contribution to the theory and/or practice of continuous innovation). Third/fourth year's PhD students are also strongly encouraged to join (by invitation) the PhD workshop and present parts of their PhD thesis. The interaction between more advanced students and the first and second year's students has been a feature of previous CINet Doctoral Workshops, and appeared to provide valuable networking and learning opportunities for all research students involved. At least one ‘young doctor' will be invited to present her/his recently completed PhD project. All PhD students working on topics related to continuous innovation are also strongly encouraged to attend the annual CINet PhD Seminar on Research in Continuous Innovation (see http://www.continuous-innovation.net/ for more information). The PhD workshop during the CINet conference
The CINet PhD workshop will take place at The Freeman Centre on the campus of the University of Sussex , United Kingdom . The PhD workshop will start on 3 September 2005, the Saturday before the 6th International CINet Conference, and will end on the afternoon of 6 September with a closing session. During the conference several smaller meetings will be scheduled. A preliminary programme is available for download.
The maximum number of participants in the first year's group is 25. The second year's seminar is by invitation only. FeeThe fee for the CINet PhD workshop is €450. The fee includes:
