Accomodation

Lucca is splitted in two parts by the walls: the inside part and the outside one. The ‘inside’ is the historic centre: it is very typical and it’s the where the ‘spirit of Lucca’ lives. The ‘outside’ is the rest of the town. This difference is also for accommodation: ‘inside’ you can find very particular hotels (attention to detail, paintings, rooms in the medieval tower, fine antiques, etc.) while the international standard hotels are located ‘outside’.
‘Inside’ there are small hotels – 5 to 15 rooms – all of them very near the conference venue while ‘outside’ there are big ones but not very near to the venue (taxi my be necessary). Therefore, if you would like to try something special, the ‘inside’ hotels are your choice.
However, all the suggested accommodations were visited by the organizing committee in order to guarantee the quality level they offer.

VERY IMPORTANT: we recommend booking the hotels as soon as possible (by May 2006) as in September Lucca proposes many events which attract many tourists and hotels - especially the ‘inside’ ones - are out of rooms.
