Travelling information

CINet 2009 is to be held at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) Gardens Point campus, located in the central CBD area. Maps of the university campus are available for download and will be also provided upon arrival at the conference. Signage will be placed around campus to help you navigate to the venue.

A map of Brisbane City, inbuilt with an easy search function, is available online. This site is also a good reference for things to see and do around Brisbane.

Travel from the Airport to the City

There are three main travel options to get from the Airport to Brisbane CBD; taxi, train and bus. Details of where each of these services depart from can be found at the Brisbane Airport site.

Taxis are available from a centrally located rank at the front of the Domestic terminal and on Arrival Level 2 at the International Terminal. All taxi companies operating in Brisbane are reliable and the average fair is approximately $36.

For those who prefer to use public transport, the AirTrain runs from both the International and Domestic terminals and delivers passengers to Central station. The trip takes approximately 20 minutes, pre-booking tickets online attracts a 10% discount. From Central station, a free city centre loop bus, easily identified by its bright red appearance, can transfer passengers to stops convenient to their accommodation. For those staying at The Marque, take the bus to the Government Precinct stop and those staying at Royal on the Park should disembark at the Botanic Gardens stop.

Alternatively, a coach service leaves the airport every 30 minutes and for $14 will deliver you to your hotel in the Brisbane CBD.

Travel from Accommodation to QUT

The hotels recommended for accommodation, The Marque and Royal on the Park, are both within short walking distance from the university campus.

Travel around Brisbane

For those wishing to travel around Brisbane CBD during the conference, the free loop bus is an easy and free way to travel. Alternatively, details of public transport are available from TransLink.
