During this period, he will undertake joint research projects with colleagues at Luiss on different research topics, e.g Open Source Software firms, implementation of e-governance, and firm capabilities. Furthermore, he will be teaching at the PhD and MBA programs at Luiss. During their visit to Australia last September, "international experts" John Bessant and Harry Boer were interviewed by an Australian TV station for a short news item in one of their television programmes. Professor Ross Chapman has been appointed as Associate Dean (Research) for the College of Law and Business at the University of Western Sydney. The Center for Industrial Production (CIP) at Aalborg University has strengthened its research and teaching within the area of industrial innovation by appointing Frank Gertsen as Professor of Innovation Management. This five-year position is co-funded by Industriens Realkredit Fond and The Faculty of Engineering and Science. Professor Paul Hyland believes his professorial role is leadership. Recently promoted to Professor, Paul Hyland takes his new role seriously. "My professorial leadership area is in research and research output, that is publication in journals and conference proceedings, and in attracting external research funding to Central Queensland University." he said. "My job is to help staff who do not have the necessary skills set to publish their research". in Networking. Prof. John Bessant, Innovator in Residence at University of Queensland has spent some time with CI researchers at Central Queensland University. As well as extensive discussions with staff John savored the unique delights of The Beef Capital of Australia Rockhampton and the Capricorn Coast. As always he was keen to observe many local business operations including the Gracemere Saleyards, Queensland busiest cattle yards, the Koorana Crocodile Farm, an award winning exporter. John under the guidance of Paul Hyland also visited some of the regions top tourism businesses including, The Great Western Hotel and rodeo ring, Rydges Capricorn Resort and Great Keppel. 2002Paul Hyland changed jobs. He started working for the University of Central Queensland (Australia) as an Associate Professor in Management on January 1st, 2002. Ross Chapman started in a new position per February 1st 2002 at the University of Western Sydney. He has been appointed as the Director, Research Management and Training for the College of Law and Business. Minna Forssén publicly defended her Doctoral Thesis "The life-cycle of bottom-up ideas. Case studies of companies where the simulation game method was applied." on April 19, 2002 at Helsinki University of Technology. At a ceremony to mark the occasion Friday 26 April 2002, Professor Kevin Fagg, Dean, Faculty of Business and Law, Central Queensland University, welcomed the involvement of the faculty with CINet and the opportunity for PhD students to have access to CINet's global network of researchers. More info ... 2001From May 1st Riitta Smeds has been appointed as full professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Helsinki University of Technology. Her chair is: Information Networks (especially digital services and economy in information networks and enterprise networks). Her inagural lecture entitled "Information Networks, a process innovation in New Economy education and research." was held on December 11, 2001. José Gieskes defended her doctoral thesis "Learning in Product Innovation Processes" on October 17, 2001 at the University of Twente. 2000Starting April 2000 Harry Boer was appointed as Research Professor of Organisation Design and Change at the Center for Industrial Production, Department of Production, Aalborg University, Denmark. On May 4, 2001, he held his inaugural lecture entitled "And [Jethro]said Learning: the link between strategy, innovation and production".
