Collaboratively work on "Smart Working" within CINet

Added: Friday 27 September 2013, 10:00

During the last CINet conference Mariano Corso and Luca Gastaldi have organised a Developmental Workshop on the topic of Smart Working.

Smart Working refers to the emergence of a new paradigm in which the creation of value for a company is no longer linked only to the physical presence of the workers in a given place and for a certain period of time, but rather to their ability to generate innovation and do their job regardless of the time and place in which they live.

The creation of a Smart Working system requires a joint redesign of:

  • Bricks, or the physical layout of work spaces;
  • Bits, or the ability to exploit the potential of digital technologies and rethink the virtual work space;
  • Behaviours, in terms of work style and organisational policies, top management culture and peoples’ behaviours.

A group of researchers from Politecnico di Milano, Politecnico di Torino and the University of Pisa are already working on these topics.
These researchers invite anyone who is interested in accomplishing research within this field to contact Luca Gastaldi for exploring further opportunities of collaboration.
